The complete book, first edition, in a very distinguished binding with eight brass corners, four each on front and back, and an oval brass plate with a monogram of nobility: "TH" or "HT" below a crown.

When we purchased the book, it needed restauration. It was performed by a distinguished expert.

The former damages of the binding are repaired, but still faintly recognizable, the oval brass medaillon with the royal monogram and the brass corners show a pleasant age patina. The inside of the book, however, reflects an almost perfect condition. All book pages have been thoroughly cleaned without any loss of color where it applies. Luckily the individual pages had suffered no damages other than foxing, so that each page is actually intact without the necessity of repair. All protective tissue papers have been replaced. Text and lithographs are now again in near perfect condition showing their original beauty.

The book is rare and a gem in anyone's collection with the subject matter of Mexico.
